I like to think of head coverings as crowns.
When I was a child , there were times when we would not have portable water at home and we would have to fetch water from a nearby well, stream or river. We will rush down with buckets and gallons chattering and singing our way to the destination. I remember we each had a small cloth which we would wrap around and use as a head cushion.
Growing up, I came to see how headwraps have played a role in history and in my personal life. It is a symbol of identity, in my culture it is a symbol of grace. All these have pushed me and cultivated a love for headwraps. It has become my pride, When I wear a head wrap I feel a sense of royalty, pride and identity to my roots and beliefs.
